Muslim women's achievements in the field of knowledge- The Ideal Muslimah

The gates of knowledge are open to the Muslim woman, and she may enter whichever of them she

chooses, so long as this does not go against her feminine nature, but develops her mind and enhances her

emotional growth and maturity. We find that history is full of prominent examples of remarkable women

who sought knowledge and became highly proficient.

Foremost among them is the Mother of the Believers `A'ishah (May Allah be pleased with her), who was the primary source of hadith and knowledge of the sunnah, and was the first faqihah in Islam when

she was still a young woman no more than nineyears of age.

Imam al-Zuhri said: "If the knowledge of `A'ishah were to be gathered up and compared to the

knowledge of all the other wives of the Prophet (PBUH) and all other women, `A'ishah's knowledge

would be greater."

Her knowledge and deep understanding were not restricted only to matters of religion; she was equally

distinguished in poetry, literature, history and medicine, and other branches of knowledge that were

known at that time. The faqih of the Muslims, `Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, was quoted by his son Hisham as

saying: "I have never seen anybody more knowledgeable in fiqh or medicine or poetry than `A'ishah."

`A'ishah (May Allah be pleased with her) had a curious mind and was always eager to learn.

Whenever she heard about something she did not know, she would ask about it until she

understood it. Her closeness to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) meant that she was like a vessel

full of knowledge.

Imam Bukhari reports from Abu Mulaykah that `A'ishah, the wife of the Prophet (PBUH) never

heard anything that she did not know, but she would keep going over it until she understood it.

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Whoever is brought to account will be punished." `A'ishah said: "I

said, `But does Allah (SWT) not say ( `Soon his account will be taken by an easy reckoning')

(Qur'an 84:8)" He said, "That refers to al-`ard (when everyone is brought before Allah (SWT) on

the Day of Judgement); but whoever is examined in detail is doomed."

In addition to her great knowledge, `A'ishah (May Allah be pleased with her) was also very eloquent in

her speech. When she spoke, she captured the attention of her audience and moved them deeply. This is

what made al-Ahnaf ibn Qays say:

"I heard the speeches of Abu Bakr, `Umar, `Uthman, `Ali and the khulafa' who came after them, but I

never heard any speech more eloquent and beautiful than that of `A'ishah."

Musa ibn Talhah said: "I never saw anyone more eloquent and pure in speech than `A'ishah."

`A'ishah, the other wives of the Prophet (PBUH), the daughter of Sa`id ibn al-Musayyab, Fatimah al-

Samarqandi and other famous women scholars were not something unique or rare among Muslim

women. There were innumerable learned women, who studied every branch of knowledge and became

prominent in many fields.

The modern Muslim woman, looking at the magnificent heritage of women in Islamic history, is filled

with the desire for knowledge, as these prominent women only became famous and renowned

throughout history by virtue of their knowledge. Their minds can only be developed, and their characters

can only grow in wisdom, maturity and insight, through the acquisition of useful, beneficial and correct

knowledge.

The Muslim Woman and her Mind!!!

She takes care of her mind by pursuing knowledge

The sensitive Muslim woman takes care of her mind just as she takes care of her body, because the

former is no less important than the latter.

The Muslim woman is responsible just as a man is, so she is also required to seek knowledge, whether it is "religious" or "secular", that will be of benefit to her. When she recites the ayah ( . . . But say, `O my

Lord! Advance me in knowledge.') (Qur'an 20:114) and hears the hadith, "Seeking knowledge is a

duty on every Muslim," she knows that the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah are directed at men

and women equally, and that she is also obliged to seek the kinds of knowledge that have been made

obligatory for individuals and communities (fard `ayn and fard kifayah) to pursue them from the time

that this obligation was made known to the Muslim society.

The Muslim woman understands the high value that has been placed on knowledge since the earliest

days of Islam. The women of the Ansar asked the Prophet (PBUH): "Appoint a special day for us when

we can learn from you, for the men have taken all your time and left nothing for us." He told them,

"Your time is in the house of so-and-so [one of the women]." So he came to them at that place and

taught them there."

The Muslim women had a keen desire for knowledge, and they never felt too shy to ask questions about

the teachings (ahkam) of Islam, because they were asking about the truth, and (Allah is not ashamed

[to tell you] the truth) (Qur'an 33:53). Many reports illustrate the confidence and maturity with which

the early Muslim posed questions to the Prophet (PBUH), this great teacher, seeking to understand their

religion more fully.

Islam has made the pursuit of knowledge obligatory on women and men alike, as the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Seeking knowledge is a duty on every Muslim."In other words, it is a duty on every person, man or woman, who utters the words of the shahadah, so it comes as no surprise to see Muslim women thirsting for knowledge, devoting themselves to its pursuit. Muslim women of all times and places have understood the importance of seeking beneficial knowledge, and the positive effects this has on their

own characters and on their children, families and societies. So they seek knowledge enthusiastically,

hoping to learn whatever will benefit them in this world and the next.

Asalamu Alaykum. Just a thought on the matter of knowledge. We all get so busy sometimes and held back from our duty of seeking knowledge. But by acquiring the correct necessary knowledge we can do so much better as Muslimahs, mothers, wives, and we can share what we learn, hoping for the good pleasure of Allah (swt).

Knowledge is a stream that we should all be thirsty to drink from.

" O Allah, Please Increase us in knowledge". Ameen

Dont Investigate Into Your Husband / Wife Past..

Many men & women insist upon knowing everything about their husband's or wife's past. If a man or a woman was not always a practicing Muslim, then he or she might ask him/her about women/men he/she previously liked- for example, how do they look? they will then insist to their spouses that whatever he/she says will not have any affect on him/her whatsoever!! When a man/woman answers questions about their past, he/she makes a huge mistake, one that he/she will pay a dear price for any acknowledgement of a past relationship will cause his/her married life to be poisoned by JEALOUSY.

Noble brothers/sisters in Islam, beware of investigating into your husband's/wife's past. Instead of asking about your spouse past, contemplate the saying of Allah:

"O you who believe! ask not about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble" (5:101).

And the Prophet (SAW) said: "It is from the goodness of one's Islam that he leaves alone that which does not concern him"

Instead of living in your spouse's past and investigating its particulars, enjoy the present life that you are sharing with your husband or wife.

Secrets of Happy Couples

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

Hope ur all in the best of health and Imaan by the Grace of Allah [swt]

I found this interesting article.....happy reading

Secrets of Happy Couples

1. Cultivate common interests.

2. Walk together.

3. Make trust and forgiveness your default mode. If and when they have a disagreement or argument, and if they can't resolve it, happy couples default to trusting and forgiving rather than distrusting and begrudging.

4. Focus more on what your partner does right than what he or she does wrong. If you look for things your partner does wrong, you can always find something. If you look for what he or she does right, you can always find something, too. It all depends on what you want to look for. Happy couples accentuate the positive.

5. Hug each other as soon as you see each other after work. Our skin has a memory of "good touch" (loved), "bad touch" (abused) and "no touch" (neglected). Couples who say "Assalaamu alaiykum" with a hug keep their skin bathed in the "good touch," which can inoculate your spirit against anonymity in the world.

6. Say "I love you" and "Insha-Allah, May you have a good day" every morning.

7. Say "Assalaamu alaiykum "- May you be with peace: every night, regardless of how you feel.

8. Do a "weather" check during the day.

9. Be happy to be seen with your partner.

Even if these actions don't come naturally, happy couples stick with them until they do become a part of their relationship. They know that it takes 30 days for a change in behavior to become a habit, and a minimum of six months for a habit to become a way of life and love.

Health and Fitness

Nowadays we Muslims don't seem concerned about our health and fitness. We are not as active as our predecessors. Even when the Masjid is about 5-10 minutes walk away, we will still travel to the Masjid by car due to our laziness; it tends to cause us to slack in our Salaah and our Ibaadah.

Good health is not only confined to exercise, but health is also affected by what we eat and how much we sleep. In a Hadith, to the nearest meaning a third of our stomach should be for food, a third for drink and a third to help us breathe. From this, we can learn that it is advised not to eat a lot.

We can also change our cooking techniques. For example, many people of the sub-continent, when cooking use vegetable oil. Oil is fat and is very bad for ones throat and arteries. We can use alternatives such as olive oil or sunseed oil. People are sometimes put off from buying these types of products due to their cost.

The reason why we are advised not to eat a lot is because having a full stomach is burdensome and makes it hard for a person to walk around, therefore making him lazy. We shouldn't eat too less as this will have a diverse effect on your health. In Islam everything should be done in moderation.

Islam is not just practiced by using the tongue. To perform the Hajj and Umrah requires a lot of energy and the use of our limbs. It is unfortunate to see old people coming from different parts of the world carrying out their Hajj journey on foot and seeing middle aged men who are accustomed to travelling by cars carrying out their Hajj by means of coach. It is also sad to see people passing out at Hajj time because they are tired.

The Sahabah used to engage themselves in exercises. For example, horse riding, fencing, wrestling etc. Nowadays, instead of playing football, people tend to watch it on the television. The television is an object that makes a person lazy and is very destructive to our health and is also one of the main causes of the Alzheimer's disease.

At the end of the day, by being more fit, you will have more strength to worship Allah without feeling lazy. We should thank Allah for the good health he has blessed us with. Thanking is not just done by the tongue. We also have to show our gratitude by using this great favour that Allah has bestowed upon us the way Allah wants us to use it.

Think about why we are given strength in our young age and why it is loved by Allah to see a person in his youth worshipping Allah.

May Allah Taa'la give us the ability to fulfil the rights of his bounties and to worship Him until death comes to us. Ameen.

16 Ways To Control Our Speech

1) We should speak only if we our speech will be good and beneficial. We should remember the famous saying, “If you do not have anything good to say, don’t say anything at all.” Imams Bukhari and Muslim reported that Rasulullah (SAW) said, “Whosoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him say good or remain silent.”

2) We should be truthful when we speak and refrain from lying: The believer should always tell the truth, and he should never lie even if when he is joking around. Rasulullah (SAW) said: “You must speak the truth for the truth leads to virtue and virtue leads to Paradise. One, who always speaks the truth and means the truth, is recorded as truthful with Allah. Keep away from the lie for the lie leads to evil and evil leads to the Hell Fire and one who continually tells a lie and intends to lie is recorded with Allah as a liar.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

3) We should refrain from using bad language or cursing at all times: Never use bad language, even if you are serious or just kidding around, because Allah hates the disobedient, and He hates the one who curses. Disobedient talk includes bad-mouthing others, and cursing. For this reason, Rasulullah (SAW) warned us in an authentic hadith that, “The believer does not accuse, curse others, disobey Allah, nor bad-mouth others.” and in another authentic hadith, “The curse of a Muslim is a sign of disobedience.” Not only are we prohibited from cursing at the living, but we are also forbidden to curse at the dead. Rasulullah (SAW) forbade us when he said; “Do not curse the dead; they will get it for what they had done (in this life)” and Rasulullah (SAW) ordered us in another hadith to, “Mention the good things about the dead.”

4) We should refrain from Gheebat or backbiting Gheebat means to talk about someone behind their back in a manner that he/she would dislike. Allah says:

“O ye who believe! Shun much suspicion; for lo! some suspicion is a crime. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you love to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Ye abhor that (so abhor the other)! And keep your duty (to Allah). Lo! Allah is Relenting, Merciful.” (Surah Al-Hujurat 49:12)

Furthermore, we should refrain from Nameemah, which means spreading around rumors that would cause conflict among people. In fact, Rasulullah (SAW) said in an authentic hadith: “He who makes Nameemah does not enter Paradise.” And when someone is committing Gheebat or Nameemah, then we should stop listening to them, because if we keep listening, then we will share their sins.

5) We should refrain from swearing by the name of Allah unless it is absolutely necessary. Allah says:

“And do not make Allah’s (Name) an excuse in your oaths.” (Surah Baqarah 2:224)

6) We should speak about matters within our knowledge and expertise: If you do not know what you are talking about, then remain silent. Allah says:

“And do not follow [ say] that of which you have no knowledge.” (Surah Al-Isrâ 17:36)

7) We should not speak about matters that we hear about, without investigation: We always hear things from others that may not be so truthful or accurate, and some people talk about things even when they are doubtful. So in order to avoid sharing their sins, you should not speak without making sure that what people are saying is true. Rasulullah (SAW) warns us in an authentic hadith, “It is enough sin a person commits when he talks about everything he hears.”

We should make sure that our goals from our speech should be to find the truth. We should not worry about how or who reveals the truth; just make sure that someone reveals the truth in the end.

9) We should refrain from involvement in senseless arguments in which the sole purpose is to put down others and to show superiority: Aimless arguments are signs of misguidance. (We seek refuge with Allah from it). For this reason, Rasulullah (SAW) warned us: “A people did not get misguided after Allah had guided them, but they were aimlessly argumentative.” (Al-Tirmidhi) Stay away from arguments even if the truth is on your side, so that you can end a pointless argument. Rasulullah (SAW) said in another authentic hadith reported by Imam Abu-Dawud, “I guarantee a house in the surroundings of Paradise for the one who stopped being aimlessly argumentative even if he is right.”

10) We should make our speech simple, clear, and avoid difficult words: There is no reason to use eloquent language or complicated words when no one understands; also, avoid hurtful words that put down others, because Rasulullah (SAW) hates this kind of talk. Rasulullah (SAW) said in a fair hadith reported by Imam At-Tirmithi, “The people whom I hate the most and who are the farthest from me on the Day of Judgment are those who talk uselessly, and those who put down others, and those who shows off when they talk.”

11) We should make sure our speech is clear, quiet, and audible enough for others to hear and understand: Sometimes, Rasulullah (SAW) used to repeat important words three times to make sure that it was understood and he used to make his speech simple and easy for everyone to understand.

12) We should make sure our speech is serious and to joke around very sparingly: And if you do decide to be humorous, at least make truthful jokes just like Rasulullah (SAW) used to do.

13) We should avoid interrupting others while they speak and we should listen to what they have to say until they finish their statement: Afterwards, you should comment on what they have said only if necessary. We should not waste time by repeating or commenting on everything, everyone says.

14) We should talk and debate in a polite manner, avoiding words that hurt, put down, or humiliate others: All messengers ordered this good way of speech. When Allah sent Moosa (AS) and his brother Haroon (AS) to Pharaoh, he ordered them to speak to him nicely. Allah says:

فَقُولَا لَهُ ۥ قَوۡلاً۬ لَّيِّنً۬ا لَّعَلَّهُ ۥ يَتَذَكَّرُ أَوۡ يَخۡشَىٰ

“And speak to him (Pharaoh) mildly, perhaps he may accept caution or fear Allah.” (Surah Taha 20:44)

Always remember, you are no better than Moosa (AS) and Haroon (AS) and the person you are debating with is no worse than Pharaoh.

15) We should not reject what a person says just because their speech is mixed with right and wrong information: Never reject the truth, even if someone has mixed the truth with false details. Sort out the information that is truthful, and disregard what is dishonest or wrong. By doing this, we are establishing justice and fairness that Allah has commanded us to do.

16) We should not give our selves complements nor should we praise or pat ourselves on the backs in front of others: This type of behavior is a sign that a person is arrogant. We should avoid being arrogant, and be humble because Allah forbade us from it in Surah An-Najm:

فَلَا تُزَكُّوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡ‌ۖ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰٓ

“So do not Claim Yourselves to be Pure, He (Allah) knows best of those who are Pious.” (Surah An-Najm 53:32)

Zikar: The Most Virtuous Act

Zikar: The Most Virtuous Act
[Remembrance of Allah is the Greatest] [Al-Quran 29:45]

The Glorious Quran unfolds the greatest mystery of our creation and existence in this world and declares that God, Al-Mighty has created men and jinn only to celebrate His praise and worship Him alone, as mentioned in the holy verse “I have created jinn and men only to worship Me” [51:56]. The Quran further says “Remembrance of Allah is the Greatest” [29:45], Zikr [Remembrance of Allah] is definitely the best and the most excellent form of worship as it includes Tasbih [glorifying], Takbir [exalting], Tahmid [praising] and Istigfar[seeking forgiveness] of God, Al-Mighty, who deserves all the great and the most beautiful praises. It is Allah’s greatest blessing and mercy on us, that he has informed us about the virtues, the blessings and the rewards of Zikar in the Quran and the Ahadith, without which we would have never been successful, as mentioned in the Quran “Remember Allah much, that you may be successful” [62:10].

The Importance of Zikar in Quran
1. “Men who remember Allah much and women who remember Allah much, Allah hath prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward.”[33:35];
2. “If you give thanks, I will give you more [of My Blessings]” [14:7]
3. “Remember Me and I will remember you, and be grateful to Me and never be ungrateful to Me.” [2:152]
4. “O ye who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance; and glorify Him in morning and evening.”[41:42]
5. “Those who believe, and whose hearts find comfort in the remembrance of Allah! it is in the remembrance of Allah that their hearts can find comfort”[13:28]
6. “.. Remember Allah standing, sitting and lying down.”[4:103]
7. “And be not you as those who forgot Allah and therefore He caused them to forget their own souls. Such are the losers.”[59:19]
8. “Who so ever turns away from My remembrance, verily for him is a life of hardship and We shall raise him up blind on the day of Resurrection.”[20:124]

The Virtues and Importance of Zikar in Ahadith:
1. Hadhrat Abu Saeed[RA] narrates that Prophet[SA] was asked about the one who will be the noblest among people on the Day of Qiyaamah and the closest to Allah Ta’ala. Prophet[SA] said:”Those men and women who remember Allah in abundance.” Someone asked: “O Rasulullah! What about the one who wage Jihaad in the Path of Allah? “Prophet[SA] replied: “The one who engages constantly in Zikar of Allah is superior in rank to the one who wages Jihad, even if he fights so vehemently against the kuffar and mushrikeen that his sword breaks and even if he is dyed red in blood” [Ahmad and Tirmidhi]
2. Abu Darda[RA] says that the Prophet[SA] said, “Do you want me to tell you of your best deeds, the most honored and praised and sanctified to Your Lord and the highest in its reward; better than spending gold and better than meeting your enemy and fighting them in the Jihad?” They said “Yes O Prophet of Allah.” He said, “Zikarullah.” [Reported by Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah]
3. Abdullah ibn Umar[RA] narrated that Prophet[SA] used to say: “Everything has a polish, and the polish of hearts is Zikar of Allah. Nothing is more calculated to rescue from Allah’s punishment than Zikar of Allah.” He was asked whether this did not apply even to Jihad in Allah’s path, and he replied: “Not even if one would fight with his sword until it breaks.” [Bayhaqi and al-Targhib]
4. Prophet[SA] said “The example of one who remembers Allah and someone who does not, is like the example between the living and the dead.”[Sahih Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
5. Abdullah Bin Bisr[RA] narrated that a villager came to the Holy Court of Rasool Allah[SA] and asked, “Which man is the best?” Prophet[SA] said, “It is the luck and good-fortune of that person whose life is long and his deeds are good.” He asked, “Ya Rasool Allah! Which deed is the best?” Prophet said, “Your tongue be wet from Zikar of Allah when you part from this world.” [Tirmidhi]
6. Muaaz bin Jabal[RA] narrated that Rasool Allah[SA] said, “The people of Jannat will only regret that moment which was spent without the Zikar of Allah during their life time.” [Bayhaqi and Tabrani]
7. Prophet[SA] said “Seven people will be shaded by Allah on the Day of Judgement…” The seventh is: “A person who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes get flooded with tears.”[Al-Bukhari]

Zikar 1: Juwairiyah bint Al-harith[R.A], the blessed wife of Prophet[SA] said: The Prophet[SA] came out from my apartment in the morning as I was busy in performing the dawn prayer. He came back in the forenoon and found me sitting there. The Prophet[SA] said, “Are you still in the same position as I left you”. I replied, affirmative. Thereupon Prophet[SA] said, “I recited four words three times after I had left you. If these are to be weighted against all you have recited since morning, these will be heavier. These are:
Sub-haa-nal-laahi Wa Bi-ham-dihi ‘Ada-da Khal-Qihi, Wa Riza Naf-sihi, Wa Zinatah ‘Ar-shi-hi, Wa Mida’-da Kali-ma-tihi [Allah is free from imperfection and I begin with His praise, as many times as the number of His creation, in accordance with His Good Pleasure, equal to the weight of His throne and equal to the ink that may be used in recording the words[for His Praise]]” [Sahih Muslim].

Zikar 2: Safiyya bint Huyayy[RA], the blessed wife of Prophet[SA] said: The Prophet came in to see me and in front of me there were four thousand date-stones with which I was making tasbih [counting ‘Subhan Allah’]. He said: “You make tasbih with so many! Shall I teach you what surpasses your number of tasbih?” She said: “Teach me!” He said: Say:
Sub-haa-nal-laahi `Adada Khal-Qihi [Glory to Allah the number of His creation] [Tirmidhi and Al-Hakim]

Zikar 3: Ibn `Umar[RA] reported that the Prophet[SA] told them, “A servant of Allah said:
Yaa-Rabbee-Lakal-Hamdu, Kamaa Yam-ba-ghee-li-Jalali, Waj-hi-ka, Wa-li-A-zheemi-Sul-Taanik
[My Lord! All praise belongs to You as much as it befits Your Glory and Sublime Majesty]
This was too much for the two angels to record. They did not know how to record it. So they soared to the heaven and said: Our Lord! Your servant has said something which we don’t know how to record. Allah asked them and, of course, He knew what the servant had said: What did My servant say? They said: He said: My Lord! All praise belongs to You as much as it befits Your Glory and Sublime Majesty. Allah said to them: Write it down as My servant has said until he should meet Me and I reward him for it.” [Hadith Qudsi reported by Ahmad and Ibn Majah]

Zikar 4: Hazrat Anas[RA] describes that the Holy Prophet[SA] said that “Ten angels rush towards a man who recites:
Alhamdu-LilLaahi Hamdan Kaseeran Tayyibam Mubarakan feehe, Kama Yuhibbu rabbuna wa yer za [All Praises be to Allah, the Praise which is bountiful, pure and blessed, the Praise which our Rabb loves and is pleased with]
To write right the blessings and the reward for this recital every angle cherishes, buts gets confused as to how to write and how much to write. They put this matter before Allah, Allah commands them to put down as much as the man has recited and leave the matter of reward to him.” [Hadith Qudsi reported by Ibn Hibban]

Zikar 5: Hadrat Abduallah bin Abi-Auffa [RA] reported that the Prophet [SA] said that “Whoever recites
La e-laaha il-’lal-laahu Wah-dahu Laa sha-rika-lahu, A-ha-dan Sa-madan, lam-ya-lid Wa-lam-yu-lad, wa-lam ya-kul-la-ho ku-fu-wan Ahad -two million [20 lakhs] virtues will be written in his credit”. [Tabrani]

Zikar 6: Prophet[SA] said:” Whoever says: La e-laaha il-’lal-lahu Wahdahu la sharika lahu, La-hul-mulku wa La-hul-hamdu, wa huwa ala kul-li shai’in Qadir [There is No God But Allah Alone, who has no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over everything] -ten times, will have the reward for freeing 4 slaves from the progeny of Ismail[AS]”.[Al-Bukhari, Muslim].

Zikar 7: Sub-haa-nal-laahi Wa biHamdihi [Glory be to Allah and His is the praise]
Hadith 1: Hazrat Umaama[RA] narrates that Prophet[SA] said: “One who is unable to pray during the night or is too miser to spend money or is too coward to take part in Jihad, should recite “SubhanAllahi Wa Bihamdihi” excessively, because this action is more valuable to Allah then spending in his path, a mountain load of gold”. [Tabrani]
Hadith 2: Prophet [SA] said “Whoever says: ‘Subhan Allahi wa bi hamdihi’ a hundred times during a day, will have all his sins wiped off even if they were as numerous as the foam, on the surface of the sea.” [Muslim, Tirmidhi, and Nasa'i]
Hadith 3: Abu Hurayra[RA] reported that the Prophet[SA] said: “There are two phrases that are light on the tongue but heavy on the scale of rewards and are dear to the Gracious One. These are: “SUB-HAA-NAL-LAAHI WA BIHAMDIHI, SUB-HAA-NAL-LAAHIL AZEEM[E]” [Glory be to Allah, and Praise, Glory be to Allah, the Supreme] [Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi]

Zikar 8: Abu Hurayra[RA] reported that Prophet[SA] said: “I love [repeating]: Sub-haa-nal-laahi, Wal-hamdu lil-laahi, Wa laa e-laaha il-lal-laahu, Wal-laahu Akbar [Glorified is Allah, and Praise be to Allah, and There is no God but Allah, and Allah is most Great] more than all that the sun shines upon.”[Muslim and Tirmidhi]. It is further mentioned in Muslim and Nasa’i Shareef that Prophet[SA] said: “The dearest phrases to Allah are four: Subhan Allah, Wa al-hamdu lillah, Wa la ilaha illallah, Wallahu akbar. It doesn’t matter whichever of them you say first”. [Muslim, Nasa'i]

Zikar 9: La Hawla wa la Qu-watta il-laa Bil-laah [There is no Might or Power except with Allah]
Hadith 1: This is mentioned in Sahih Bukhari and Muslim as “A treasure from the treasures of Paradise”.
Hadith 2: This is mentioned in Al-Nasa’i and Mishkat-e-Shareef as “A cure for ninety-nine illnesses, the least of which is sorrow”.

Zikar 10: La e-laaha iI ‘lal laa[h] [There is No God But Allah]
Hadith 1: The Prophet[SA] said that Allah will save a man of his community, the record of whose sins fills 99 books, each book extending as far as the eye can see. Against all this will be weighed, the one good deed that he has, which is his witnessing that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad[SA] is His Messenger, and it will outweigh all the rest. The Prophet [SA] then said: “Nothing is of any weight with Allah’s Name.” [Narrated by Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Al-Hakim, Bayhaqi]
Hadith 2: Abdullah ibn `Umar[RA] narrated that Prophet[SA] said: “Saying ‘Subhan Allah’ is half the balance and saying ‘al-hamdu lillah’ fills it, and there is no veil between ‘La ilaha illallah’ and Allah Himself [it is not even weighed in the Balance], it reaches Him directly.”[Tirmidhi].
Hadith 3: Hazrat Jabir[RA] reported that Prophet[SA] said, “The best way Zikar is to say: La ilaha illallah and the best dua is Al-hamdu lillah” [Al-Nasa'i, Ibn Majah, Hakim and Tirmidhi]

Zikar 11: Surah Al Ikhlas “Qul hu-Wal-laa-hu-A-had, Allah-hus-Samad, Lam Ya-lid Wa lam Yu-lad, Wa lam Ya-kul-Lahu Kufu-Wan Ahad”
Hadith 1: Prophet[SA] said: He Who reads “Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad,” it is as if he has read one third of the Qur’an [Ahmad, An-Nisa'i, Tirmidhi]. The reward for reciting Surah Ikhlas thrice, is equivalent to the recitation of one complete Quran.
Hadith 2: Prophet[SA] said: Whoever recites the Surah Al-Ikhlas “Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad” ten times, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.[Reported by Ahmad]

Zikar 12: The Best Istighfar, for the Forgiveness of Major Sins: Ibn Masud[RA] said: Prophet(SA) said, “He who says:
As-tagh-fi-rul-laah-Hal-lazi La e-laha il-laa Hu-wal-Hai-yul-Qayyumu, Wa A-tubu e-laih[i]
[I seek the forgiveness of Allah, there is no true God except Allah, the Ever Living, the Self-Subsisting, and I turn to Him in repentance]
His sins will be forgiven even if he should have run away from the battlefield [during Jihad]”. [Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Hakim]
Hadith 2: Abu Saeed RA narrates that Prophet SAW said: “He who says these words while going to bed: As-tagh-fi-rul-laah-hal-lazi La e-laha il-laa Hu-wal-Hai-yul-Qay-yoo-mu, Wa A-tubu e-laih[i] ” all his sins are remitted even if they are as large as the foam of the ocean or as many as the leaves of the trees or the grains of sand or even if his sins are equal to the life of this world i.e from its creation to the day of resurrection”. [Tirmidhi]

Zikar 13: Imran ibne Husain[RA] narrates that Rasulullah[SA] said “ the reward of reciting Sub-haa-nal-laah is more than Mount Uhud, Alhumdulillah is more than Mount Uhud and reciting Al- laa-hu Akbar is more than Mount Uhud. [Tabani, Bazar]. It is further mentioned in Muslim and Nasa’i Shariff that Prophet[SA] said: ‘the dearest phrases to Allah are four: Sub-haa-nal-laahi Walhumdu lil laahi Wa laa e- laaha il-lal- laahu Wal- laahu Akbar. It doesn’t matter which of them you say first” .
Note: For infinite reward, it is preferable to recite these words: : Sub-haa-nal-laahi A-da-da Khal-Qehe ; Alhumdu-lil-laahi A-da-da Khal-Qehe; Laa e- laaha A-da-da Khal-Qehe; Al-laa-hu Akba-ru A-da-da Khal-Qehe or recite: Sub-haa-nal-laahi Walhumdu lil laahi Wa laa e- laaha il-lal- laahu Wal- laahu Akba-ru A-da-da Khal-Qehe. [Glory be to Allah and all praises are for Him and there is no God BUT He and Allah is the greatest as many times as the number of his Creaton.]

Zikar 14:Allahu-mag-fir-li-wa-lil-mu-mi-nee-na wal mu-me-naati Wal mus-le-mee-na wal mus-le-maat [O Allah Forgive me and all the male and female believers and Muslims]
The Prophet[SA] said: “Whosoever seeks forgiveness for believing men and believing women, Allah will write for him a good deed for each believing man and believing woman.” [Tabrani]

Zikar 15: Prophet [SA] said “the prayer which Hazrat Yunus[AS] offered in the stomach of the fish is: Laa-e-laaha il-la anta sub-haa-naka en-ne Kuntu me-naz zaale meen [There is no one worthy of worship except thee may thou be glorified. Surely I have committed wrong], whom so ever prays to Allah with these words, Allah grants his prayer. [Trimidhi]

Zikar 16: Darood-O-Salaam: In Al-Quran, Surah al-Ahzab verse 56 we have been commanded to send Darood and Salaam on Prophet[SA]. Hazrat Abdullah ibn Abbas [RA] narrated that the Holy Prophet [SA] said that if a man recites JA-ZAL-LAAHU A’NN-NA MUHAMMADAN MA HUWA A’H-LU-HU [Sal-lal-laahu-Alayhi-Wa-Sal-lam]
[O Allah! Give reward to our Prophet Muhammad[SA] the reward which is benefiting as he deserves] once, then for the coming 1000 days the Angels of Allah Ta’ala will be busy in writing reward for the recite of this Durood. [Tabarani]
